review sleek makeup in rose gold

Peachy pink blushes are one of my weaknesses so when Sleek released a new shade of Blush called Rose Gold a while ago, I just couldn’t resist. I had to get it! Here’s why:

What’s In Sleek Makeup Brush In Rose Gold?

Sleek Makeup Blush in Rose Gold has a shimmery finish, courtesy of mica. It’s a naturally occurring mineral that gives sparkle to products. The bigger the size of the mica, the shinier the blush.

Colour

Rose Gold is a stunning warm peachy pink with golden shimmers. From the reviews I’ve read online, this seems to be a close dupe for Nars Orgasm but without the glitter.

Texture

The texture is finely-milled, soft to the touch and easy to blend (make sure you use a light hand!). I have to admit I wasn’t expecting it. Drugstore blushes tend to be chalky and powdery, but not this.

Pigmentation

Sleek Makeup Blush in Rose Gold is super pigmented. Very flattering on darker skintones, fair-skinned girls like me need to be very careful with application if they don’t want to look like a clown! I’ve learned this the hard way. The first time I used it, I picked up too much product and ended up looking like Krusty The Clown.

Staying Power

Super long. It’s so pigmented, the colour and glow last all day. Ok, they fade a little, but they’re still there by evening.

Fragrance

It’s fragrance-free.

How To Use It

The best way to use this blush is to apply it with either a big fluffy brush like ELF Studio Complexion Brush or a duo fibre brush. Both types of brush don’t pick up too much product, giving you a natural and glowing effect. A little goes a looooooong way here.

Performance & Personal Opinion

I’m a sucker for peachy pink blushes. They give you that healthy flush that looks flattering on most skin tones. Plus, they’re easier to wear than a bright fuchsia or a dark bronze.

Sleek Makeup Blush in Rose Gold is one of those shades you can wear on any occasion, from a day of meetings at the office to a romantic dinner date with your man.

Just make sure to use a light hand. I know I’ve said it before, but with a blush so pigmented, it’s easy to go overboard and make mistakes.

As much as I like the colour, I don’t wear it too often because I find it challenging to apply. But then, I’m paler than most. If you have a darker skin tone, you’ll find it much easier to use.

I usually make the effort on days when I know I’ll be out from morning till evening. Even if I pack on a bit more in the early morning, I know I still have enough left on my cheeks to make me glow in the evening, too. No touch-up needed.

Who Is This For?

It’s more suitable for darker complexions, but anyone can use it.

Who Is This Not For?

If you like your blushes sheer or are a makeup newbie, you won’t like this.

Packaging

The sleek black compact comes with a mirror, making application easier. In case you’re wondering, a brush isn’t included. I don’t mind that as these brushes are often useless!

Does Sleek Makeup Blush In Rose Gold Live Up To Its Claims?
