These days, I rarely use eye creams. My day moisturizer doubles up as an eye cream for me so I don’t feel the need to purchase a separate product for the eye area.
But that doesn’t mean that I don’t enjoy trying something new when I have the chance. When the lovely Tine of Beautyholics Anonymous sent me the Mukti Rosehip Eye Gel, an organic eye gel infused with antioxidants and vitamins which promises to soothe puffy eyes, I couldn’t wait to put it to the test.
What’s In Mukti Rosehip Eye Gel?
COCONUT OIL & SHEA BUTTER
Mukti Rosehip Eye Gel uses two of the most moisturising ingredients on this planet: coconut oil and shea butter.
Their job is to create a protective barrier on the skin that slows down water loss, keeping skin hydrated and soft for longer.
This barrier also reinforces the skin’s natural protective barrier, making it better able to withstand the assaults from harsh weather conditions, germs, pollution…
The catch? Both ingredients can be thick and comedogenic. If you have oily skin, stay away from this stuff.

ROSEHIP OIL
Rosehip oil is the oil extracted from the hip of roses (the hip is the radish-like ball the rose leaves behind after it blossoms).
Its superpower? It’s rich in Linoleic acid , a fatty acid that moisturises skin, strengthens its protective barrier and helps treat mini pimples.
Like that weren’t enough, the oil is also a source of Vitamin A, a powerful antioxidant that fights premature wrinkles and fades away dark spots.
P.S. Vitamin A isn’t the only antioxidant in Mukti Rosehip Eye Gel. It also has co-enzyme Q10 and Vitamin E to give it a helping hand.

Texture
I’m not sure that calling Mukti Rosehip Eye Gel a gel is appropriate. The texture resembles more that of a lightweight cream. It doesn’t feel sticky at all, absorbs easily and makes a good base for makeup.
Fragrance
Hard to describe. It’s sweet (sweeter than you’d expect from a natural skincare product) and pleasant.
How To Use It
Morning and night, after serum and cleansing, but before moisturiser.
Performance & Personal Opinion
Mukti Rosehip Eye Gel soothes and moisturizes the eye area, leaving skin soft and smooth. I also noticed that it reduces puffiness (although the effects are only temporary) allowing you to face the day looking fresh and rested.
It also makes your eyes less puffy after you’ve had a crying session (don’t ask me how I know).
But the gel didn’t make my skin firmer or more toned as it promised, and it also doesn’t do anything for dark circles. So, if you’re looking for a cream to treat them, this is not it.
Oh, well… I guess you can’t have everything.
P.S. A little bit goes a loooong way. The gel will last you for months.

Janessa, it does work, just not for dark circles. But if you wanna get rid of puffiness, this does the trick. And I agree about the packaging, it’s beautiful.
