Maria, a lot of the best antiaging ingredients, like retinoids, help with hyperpigmentation too, so you don’t have to use two routines. But you may have to add a skin-lightening product, like azelaic acid, to your routine. I’m currently 23 with oily skin.. acne isn’t much of an issue apart from hormonal acne on my chin. Those are usually pimples that take a much longer time to go away / do leave pigmentation behind 🙁

I’m currently using all of these products listed here (TO retinol, TO vitamin C, shiseido’s anessa sunscreen, TO niacinamide, glow tonic from pixi) but would you recommend cutting down on the number of products used?

My retinol is also a 2% granactive retinoid in squalene (from the ordinary) but that’s been out of stock for a long time so i’m not sure if i should change to a lower % anyway? And I’ve been having trouble deciding on which TO vitamin C to purchase now that my current one is running out. Would appreciate any insight!

Thanks! x

Thank you so much for offering all this valuable information. Trying to get the right regimen for different goals is pretty intimidating. I am trying to build an anti-aging routine and hyperpigmentation. Could I alternate between these two routines?

Shalin, you don’t have to. Salicylic acid is a good alternative. If you really want to add glycolic acid, simply go for glycolic acid peels at your dermatologist every 3/4 months.

I use all of the above anti aging superstars, except Glycolic acid. But I do use salicylic acid thrice a week at night, and retinol other three nights. How can I incorporate glycolic acid also into my routine?? Please help

Sharon, Timeless is a great brand. Definitely a good alternative to Skinceuticals. I’d love to help, but I can’t without knowing your skin type, concerns etc. You can book a skincare consultation and we can take it from there.
